Sultanpur: The Retired Employees and Pensioners Association in Sultanpur has announced a district-level protest on December 15 to press for the inclusion of pensioners’ demands in the 8th Pay Commission and to highlight long-pending grievances. The demonstration will be held in response to a nationwide call issued by the All India Pensioners Federation (AIPF).
The decision was taken during the association’s monthly district meeting, chaired by President Ghanshyam Srivastava. Members unanimously approved the proposal to stage the protest jointly with other affiliated organisations. Association patron Ashok Kumar Srivastava urged all pensioners to participate in large numbers to ensure the success of the programme.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Shivmurti Pandey, Organisation Minister Jagdish Prasad Srivastava, Siraj Ahmed, Tulsi Ram, Treasurer Tom Prakash Mishra, Deputy Minister Mata Prasad Sharma, Auditor Suresh Bahadur, and several other office-bearers.
Pensioners Express Anger Over Exclusion From 8th Pay Commission
Ashok Kumar Srivastava said pensioners across the country and the state are deeply dissatisfied because their concerns have not been included in the 8th Pay Commission framework. He urged the Prime Minister to take cognisance of the continuous demonstrations being held by senior citizens and pensioners.
The association had earlier organised a dharna and candle march on November 29.
Memorandum to Be Submitted to Prime Minister
Following the December 15 protest, pensioners will submit a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister, outlining their demands and requesting immediate action. All office-bearers of the All India Pensioners Association will participate in the programme.
Pensioners appealed to the Prime Minister, stating that just as they contributed to the nation’s development during their service years, their issues as senior citizens now deserve equal attention and timely resolution.
