NIA Raids Former Medical Professor Dr. Shaheen’s Residence in Lucknow Amid Delhi Car Blast Probe

Lucknow: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted raids at the Khandaari Bazaar residence of Dr. Shaheen Saeed, a former medical professor who is under scrutiny in connection with the Delhi car blast near Red Fort reported in November. Two NIA teams searched the residence for nearly six hours and questioned Dr. Shaheen’s father and brother. Officials reportedly seized certain documents and electronic equipment during the operation.

The agency has not officially commented on the findings, and NIA officers declined to respond to media queries after the raid.

Multiple Locations Searched Across India

The operation was not limited to Lucknow. NIA teams simultaneously carried out searches in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, and Sambura in Jammu & Kashmir. Earlier, the agency had raided several locations in Faridabad and Gurugram, and also searched the residence of Dr. Aadil Ahmad Rather, an accused arrested earlier in Saharanpur.

According to officials, these coordinated searches aim to identify individuals suspected of providing support, funding, or resources to the terror module believed to be linked to the Delhi blast.

Earlier Links Under Investigation

Investigators are examining possible connections between Dr. Shaheen and the suspected module. Dr. Shaheen previously served as a lecturer and head of the Pharmacology Department at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, between 2006 and 2013.

She was earlier arrested by Faridabad Police, and an assault rifle was reportedly recovered from her vehicle at the time. The NIA is now probing whether she had any role in facilitating the module allegedly involved in the blast incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited from the agency.
