Sultanpur: A traditional Kalash Yatra was organized on Monday in Kudwar Bazaar and the nearby Nevra village ahead of the upcoming Shrimad Bhagwat Katha. Women carrying sacred urns (kalash) on their heads walked in devotion, chanting praises, while men, women, and children danced to devotional music played by the accompanying band.
The procession began from the residence of Neelam Yadav in Kudwar Bazaar and moved through the Aliganj road, reaching the telephone exchange before returning to the bank of the Gomti River. Devotees collected water from the river and offered prayers to Lord Shiva at the ancient Shiva temple. The yatra then returned to its starting point.
Organizers offered refreshments to all participants as a gesture of gratitude. The storyteller (kathavachak), Janaki Maharaj, who arrived on a chariot, greeted the devotees warmly.
Prominent attendees included Surya Narayan Yadav, Shyam Ji Yadav, Pankaj, Nishant Yadav, Dayaram Agrahari, Raju, Premchand Agrahari, Vandana, Madhu, and several others.
