DVC Achieves Major Digital Transformation with SAP S/4HANA Go-Live Under Project Samanwaya

Kolkata. Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has reached a historic milestone in its digital transformation journey with the successful go-live of the SAP S/4HANA platform, marking the launch of its next-generation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The implementation represents a significant shift from legacy enterprise business applications to a modern, cloud-enabled, AI-powered, in-memory ERP environment.

The transformation has been executed under Project Samanwaya (ERP), a comprehensive initiative aimed at seamlessly integrating DVC’s diverse business verticals onto a unified digital platform. The new system is expected to enhance organizational agility, operational efficiency, transparency, and decision-making while delivering a modern and user-friendly experience across the enterprise.

The landmark occasion was attended by DVC’s senior leadership, underscoring the strategic importance of the initiative. Those present included Shri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, DVC; Shri Arup Sarkar, Member (Finance), DVC; Shri S.K. Panda, Member (Technical), DVC; and Shri Sudipto Acharjee, ITS, Chief Vigilance Officer, DVC.

The project was implemented with Deloitte as the System Integrator, playing a key role in the design, execution, and deployment of the SAP S/4HANA solution. Deloitte’s leadership team present at the event included Shri Roshan Chirania, COO, Deloitte India SAP; Mrs. Shweta Gugnani Kapoor, Sector Head and Partner – Energy, Resources & Industrials, Deloitte India; Shri Sujit Mohanty, Engagement Partner and Executive Director, Deloitte India; Mr. Raja Banerjee, Engagement Director, Deloitte India; and Mr. Anirban Shankar Bandyopadhyay.

The go-live event featured live, on-the-spot testing of critical SAP modules to demonstrate system readiness and performance, followed by a detailed technical presentation by Deloitte outlining the capabilities, architecture, and future roadmap of the new ERP platform. The occasion concluded with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the collective effort and collaboration that led to the project’s successful delivery.

With the adoption of SAP S/4HANA, DVC is poised to leverage real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and scalable digital processes to support its long-term strategic objectives. The new platform is expected to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making across the organization.
