Sultanpur: Complaints regarding the arbitrary behavior and abusive language of government officials and employees in Uttar Pradesh are reportedly on the rise. The situation has reached a point where not only the general public, but even public representatives are expressing concern over the conduct of officials.
A recent incident from Sultanpur district has brought the issue into the spotlight, where serious allegations have been leveled against an acting Junior Engineer (JE) of the electricity department.
According to reports, on Monday evening, Dr. Vikas Singh, a resident of Surapur and a former Assembly candidate, called the acting JE, Sushil Sharma, who is posted at the Taukalpur Power House under the Kadipur electricity distribution division, regarding a power-related issue.
It is alleged that the JE responded in an abusive manner and questioned the caller by saying, “How dare you call me?” He further reportedly stated, “Do whatever you want, this is how we are.”
Expressing his displeasure, Dr. Singh stated that public representatives are required to regularly communicate with officials to resolve public grievances. He warned that such behavior from government employees could disrupt public service delivery and weaken the democratic system.
Dr. Singh has reportedly filed a complaint regarding the incident with the Ministry of Power as well as the Chief Minister’s Office of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that such arbitrary conduct and abusive language would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The incident has also triggered anger among local residents, who believe that if officials continue to behave in such a manner, it will become increasingly difficult for common citizens to get their issues addressed.
